Kai by MATBLAK is a Māori-led food brand built on flavour, culture, and connection. Founded by chef Matt Burgess, the brand combines more than 30 years in professional kitchens with Māori values of manaakitanga (hospitality) and whakapapa (heritage).

Our sauces are produced in London using the freshest ingredients at a five-star facility in Croydon. Each batch reflects balance, care, and purpose. Food that connects people to place.

“Kai” means food in Māori. It is more than what is on the plate. It is the act of sharing, the story behind ingredients, and respect for the land that provides them.

Through Kai by MATBLAK, we celebrate connection between modern technique and ancestral knowledge, between the fire of the kitchen and the calm of the earth.
